The Use of Smartphones for Daily Messaging among Foreign Students and Thai Students for Uplifting English Language Experiences

Assumption University (AU) has launched the project “The Use of Smartphones for Daily Messaging among Foreign Students and Thai Students for Uplifting English Language Experiences,” in collaboration with four nearby schools: Wat Sukuntarawad School, Preng-Raj-Bumroong School, Pak-Clong Chuad Yai (New) School, and Wat Ka Luong School.

The project brought together AU lecturers, staff, international students, school principals, teachers, and Thai students to enhance English communication skills through a modern and engaging approach. Primary students practiced daily English conversations with international students using smartphone messaging applications, enabling them to apply the language in real-life contexts.

The initiative aimed not only to strengthen students’ communication confidence but also to enrich teachers with practical English teaching strategies. Moreover, it promoted cultural exchange, fostering global awareness and understanding between Thai and international students.
