When Numbers Speak: GS-BATM Students Master the Art of Data Storytelling

Students from the Financial Management class at the Graduate School of Business and Advanced Technology Management (GS-BATM), Assumption University of Thailand (AU) engaged in an intensive workshop on the art of data storytelling, led by Ajarn Wuthichai Choohasakulchoke (Ajarn Joop) from the Creative Communication Design (CCD), Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts.

The workshop emphasized how data visualization can transform raw statistics into compelling narratives. Ajarn Joop introduced the fundamentals of visual storytelling, including effective chart selection, thoughtful layout design, and presentation strategies that capture attention, inform clearly, and persuade audiences.

Students gained practical insights into design principles such as color psychology, typography, and spacing—all of which significantly enhance the impact of financial reports. Real-world case studies were presented to illustrate how visuals improve comprehension and decision-making.

In the afternoon session, students benefited from individualized coaching, receiving tailored feedback and actionable recommendations to refine their presentations.

The workshop not only strengthened students’ technical and creative skills but also instilled a deeper appreciation for transforming numbers into powerful stories. It reflects GS-BATM’s commitment to integrating business knowledge with communication excellence, preparing graduates to thrive in the global knowledge economy.
