AU and MG–SAIC Drive Innovation and Talent Development for Thailand’s New Energy Vehicle Future

On July 21, 2025, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), in collaboration with SAIC Motor and MG, hosted the “[AU. MG. SAIC] Innovation Workshop — New Energy Vehicle Campus Interactive Day” at the Suvarnabhumi Campus. The event brought together representatives from academia, industry, and international organizations to exchange knowledge and explore opportunities for talent development and industry–education integration in Thailand’s New Energy Vehicle (NEV) sector.

During the event, Dr. Huarunqi, Dean of the SAIC Automotive Institute, and representatives from MG Thailand shared insights into the development and future prospects of Thailand’s NEV industry. Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti Phothikitti, Vice President for Educational Innovation and Graduate Studies at AU, highlighted the importance of technological innovation and international cooperation in preparing skilled talent for the rapidly evolving automotive industry.

A key highlight was the signing of several cooperation agreements. AU signed an international education cooperation agreement with Shanghai Nanhu Vocational and Technical College and established collaborations with NS Aviation Academy and Hanyuan Aviation to expand international vocational education and joint training opportunities. The event also featured a scholarship award ceremony for outstanding students in the AU–Xihua University “3+1” dual-degree program, as well as an NEV exhibition and test-drive experience.

The workshop demonstrated the potential of collaboration among universities, industry partners, and international organizations to develop future-ready talent and support Thailand’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation. It also reinforced AU’s role in connecting education, innovation, and industry to advance green development and international cooperation.
