MSME Students Drive Sugarcane Innovation and Community Enterprise Development in Chan Krung

On August 24, 2025, students and faculty from the Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME), Assumption University of Thailand (AU) joined the Chan Krung Nawat Withee Community Enterprise in Lat Krabang, Bangkok, for a field visit under the Youth Volunteer Project 2025, supported by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.

Under the theme “From Chan Krung Sugarcane to Creative Products: Adding Value and Building Sustainability,” AU students worked alongside community members to develop value-added sugarcane products that reflect local identity and market potential. The team also participated in a community-led cleaning activity in preparation for implementing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards to improve product quality and safety.

Students contributed to the development of a new sugarcane with hog plum juice product, while also collecting and analyzing financial information to strengthen the community enterprise’s accounting system. In addition, they supported the community’s digital marketing through TikTok content creation, Facebook page improvement, and promotional materials.

The collaboration provided students with valuable hands-on experience in product innovation, financial management, digital marketing, and business planning, while helping strengthen local enterprise capacity, improve product competitiveness, and promote sustainable community development.
